Engineer for the General Maintenance Equipment Unit
Do you want to ensure that the Swedish Armed Forces soldiers have the right equipment at the right time? We are now looking for employees for the General Maintenance Equipment Unit. In close collaboration with an experienced team, you will have the opportunity to influence both detail and overall in projects that strengthen the capabilities of the Armed Forces and Sweden. Your work is significant at every step, from needs and ideas to delivery and follow-up.
About the position
As an engineer, you will be involved in the entire cycle from procurement to maintenance of equipment within the area of general maintenance equipment. Examples of systems being procured include tool equipment, air environment equipment, and functional and transport containers. This includes toolboxes, battery-powered tools, climate units, and dehumidification equipment – simply put, equipment that makes the Armed Forces' material last longer and contributes to a stronger defense over time.
Furthermore, the work includes designing design requirements, preparing procurement documents, drafting requests for proposals for procurements, evaluating incoming bids within the framework of LOU/LUFS, and following up on production. You will be responsible for quality assurance, delivery controls, and handling deviations, technical investigations, as well as technical documentation and maintenance preparations. The operations are conducted in close cooperation with the Armed Forces and external suppliers.
The position is based in Stockholm.
About you

To succeed in the role, you have a couple of years of relevant and current work experience either as an engineer or with similar tasks as a military, or have other relevant experience according to our assessment. You also have experience in project work and conducting market research, analyses, investigations, and/or writing reports.
Additionally, it is meritorious if you have experience in one or more of the areas: systems engineering, integrated logistics support (ILS), configuration management, requirements specification, procurement and verification of technical material, system safety, or information security declaration and information security. Likewise, if you have experience in maintenance preparations and technical documentation. It is an advantage if you have knowledge in the area of maintenance equipment and its technical solutions, knowledge of its application and integration with surrounding systems. Previous experience working with FMV, the Armed Forces, or the defense industry is meritorious but not a requirement.
Since there is a lot of contact with the Armed Forces and industry, it is a prerequisite that you have a good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English. Business travel, both domestic and international, may occur, which is why a B driver's license is required for the position. You are also accustomed to using the Office suite.
As a person, you are proactive, drive projects and collaborations forward, and have a good ability to work together with colleagues in different roles. You are self-driven, structured, and plan and organize your work efficiently. Furthermore, you have a flexible approach, are responsive to changes, and can easily adapt to new conditions.
